WHEN YOUR LOVE IS BIGGER THAN A BIG WEDDING

check out the new way to wed!

Dana & Nicholas | Amelia Island Wedding Planner

If I could give all future brides a piece of advice, it would be: Trust your wedding planner!  You made the investment for a reason!  Adair is an expert and she will never do something to harm your vision or the authenticity of your dream.  Once you come up with your “theme” stick with it and let all of the little details fall into place – even if you can’t envision something in the moment, just trust that it will come together perfectly on your wedding day!

One of my favorite stories to tell about Dana is that she actually emailed me on October 6, 2016, over 22 months before her planned wedding date. Typically, I don’t start working with Brides until we are within the 12 month period, but Dana was persistent! She had already booked Omni and Walkers Landing and KNEW she had to work with me as well. So, we stuck up a deal. We would move forward with a contract, but not officially start making moves until we made it to that year mark. It was seriously a joy planning alongside my sweet little Dana. She and Nicholas (when we talk about our husbands we often say “my Nick” as to not confuse since we both fell in love with a Nick!) are such an amazing team and really worked together throughout the planning process. Seeing that characteristic in my couples really fires me up and makes me want to make their wedding day 10x more special. Am I gushing yet?

Well, over the year of planning, we came up with a modern, classic combination with a touch of Joanna Gaines. It was almost like any wild idea I had, Dana was totally on board. Just take a look at the seating chart! I am pretty sure all I told her was, we are going to use this geometric structure, attach greenery and acrylic sheets to it. I am so glad she trusted me because that wasn’t the best description, but in my head I knew it was going to be a WOW moment!

Lucky for me, Dana herself helped me write this blog from her own point of view, so I will let her take over and share with you all her love story!

From Dana:

I actually found our wedding venue, Walkers Landing, on Pinterest!  I scrolled through Pinterest (before I was engaged) and found Adair!  I looked at all of her boards and then stalked Instagram and realized that I had to have her and all my favorite weddings were at Walker’s Landing.  We still looked at other venues to do our due diligence but our hearts knew immediate when we saw WL in person that it was perfect!

We met on tinder 5 years ago before tinder was what it is today.  We started talking because we were both Portuguese and loved to travel…but we didn’t actually meet until 2 years later!  When we finally met in person, we hit it off immediately! (Fun fact: we got married 5 years to the day of when we met on tinder)

Our favorite moment of the day was our ceremony!  Finally seeing the site we talked about for so long, being surrounded by our friends and family in such an intimate setting while Nicholas and I promised to love each other forever was surreal.  All of the elements coming together made it a dream come true!

My grandmother passed away 5 years ago – she was my best friend and it was tough knowing that she wasn’t there.  So, I found little ways to incorporate her like having her broach on my bouquet and having a piece of her dress sewn into mine.  It made me feel like she was part of the day in her own way!

From a Dairing details perspective – I would say my favorite detail was our head table.  It was hard to envision having 24 people at a table and it looking perfect and not crowded.  It turned out AMAZING and my favorite part of the reception!  It made the venue seem like a piece of home and tied every element together perfectly.

the rest of their special day…

Amazing & memorable! As parents, it was our dream come true for our only daughter! Your planning & knack for detail was on point! We couldn’t have done it without you. Adair, you will forever be a part of our family from this precious moment on. We love you & what you accomplished for our princess and her prince. Everyone who has seen pictures of this amazing day have always been complimentary about the detail that went into making this day a fulfillment of our dream. We have received lots of compliments with comments such as, looks like a magazine shoot, or a wedding from a movie. Words alone cannot express our gratitude to you & your amazing talent. We love you always! 😍😍😘😘

Really into shoes. You may remember a night that I Really into shoes. You may remember a night that I was on my socials, sharing that I may have drank a little too much tequila and the truth serum was setting in, ask me anything...well that same night I accidentally on purpose bought a paid of rockstud Valentino heels off @ruelala. Oops. I’ve wanted them for years and Nick was right there egging me on. Well, I got them the other day, and because of the pointed toe, they were a half size too small. Cue my disappointment when I had to return them and double disappointment when my size wasn’t available!!! Can’t make that same mistake on purpose twice...so here I am, dreaming about shoes. Sitting in my closet. Eating a piece of chocolate in peace. Because let’s be real, I don’t want to share.
I wish I could share more from this incredible day I wish I could share more from this incredible day, mainly because my bride was DDG, but until their extended family and friends get to see Part Deux of their day, details will have to suffice! This originate dinner at the Groom’s family home is not that terrible of a back up plan when Covid forced Olivia and Sam to postpone their May nuptials! 📷 @ashleysteeby @dairingevents @eventworksrentals
I’m telling you right now. This Father’s Day f I’m telling you right now. This Father’s Day feels super special for the Little Family. And I feel super special because I *made* sure this moment happened. You see, a wedding planner is your biggest ally on your wedding day. I knew how important it was to Maggie to have her family dances outside in the courtyard and that’s what I pushed for, even when everyone else said it was going to rain and we couldn’t do it. Well guys, the proof is in the pudding and we have this picture to celebrate! @lindseymorganphotography @makeoverstation

Tosha and Moma trusted me with not only one celebration, but two, when they got married July of 2014. Moma and his family are from Cameroon 🇨🇲 Africa, so the day before their catholic wedding, they hosted a traditional African ceremony. It was absolutely incredible to be a part of such history and traditions, from the food, to the decor, and the marriage presentation. I was also gifted a dress made out of traditional African fabric made for me by the incredible designer @kibonen.ny - I still have it and treasure what it means. I get to see these two again in just a few months when one of Moma is a groomsmen at a wedding for one of the guys that stood next to him who is my groom now!
