I am sure you have heard the saying, “every grey cloud has a silver lining” – well that could not have been anymore true for this couple’s wedding day.
I met with Jessica a few months before her wedding day. She was very organized, which I loved, but still felt like there were things missing to her wedding puzzle. One of the first things she told me was her theme, Nautical, and that was when I got hooked! Her wedding was planned for The Ribault Club, close to Fernandina and Amelia Island which was very fitting for her theme.
The day of the rehearsal, everyone was buzzing about the looming storm. In typical wedding coordinator fashion – I said “we have a plan B and it will still be beautiful”. Well, my plan B turned into plan C when I got a call later that day from the Coordinator at the Ribault Club telling me that the entire island had been evacuated and shut down! In four hours we confirmed a new venue, informed all the vendors, called the hotels to let the guests know, and I barely got any sleep.
When Edgewood Bakery dropped off that delishious cake – Sandy sent a little surprise just for me. She knows I have a sweet tooth and an obsession with her Petit Fours
Even though it was not what the couple had envisioned, it was safe. We partied into the night and never lost electricity even with the storm raging right outside the windows. Below are just a few pictures that I snapped with my camera!
At the end of the night, I actually was not able to make it safely back to Jacksonville – over any bridge – so I stayed in Fernandina with Justin and Rachel. We had a blast having our own little hotel lobby party watching transformers booming in the distance. It was really quite romantic. The best part however was coming down for breakfast wearing the same outfit as the night before…I mean – I was not prepared to stay the night anywhere. Hilarity ensued as we took full advantage of the unlimited coffee and complimentary breakfast buffet.
I don’t always include the review from my brides — but because of the circumstances of her wedding weekend, I thought it is perfect showcase of just how important having a wedding coordinator is 🙂
“Adair Currie is the absolute best wedding coordinator and planner. I know this because she helped me create, inspire, and just put all her energy into a beautiful nautical wedding. The best part is Tropical Storm and Hurricane Beryl pounded Jacksonville the night of my wedding. Set to have The Ribault Club as our venue, the coast guard shut down the club at 8:00 the night before the wedding. Adair immediately started relocation and reconstruction by scouring Jacksonville for a place to hold our wedding, got all my vendors notified, and shined! Completely need a wedding planner!! Adair will never disappoint!”
Many thanks to all the wonderful vendors who were so flexible and special thanks to
