After waiting 9 long months to know who you would be, here SHE is!

Although Nick and I want to keep her birth story personal, I did want to share my favorite moment from the day she was born. Even before we found out that we were expecting, we decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise. It was so exciting to have something else to look forward to other than just the due date. This obviously prompted so many questions from Friends and Family, especially with me being a Wedding Planner. They couldn’t imagine how I was going to plan for the nursury or anything else without knowing! The truth is, I LOVED not knowing because it gave us the opportunity to create a special memory with each other that many couples may not get to share.
I wanted Nick to announce to the room {and to me} what the sex of our baby was when she was born.
When the moment came, after two killer pushes, I heard the Doctor say, “okay Dad, tell her what y’all had!” there was a pause and Nick looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, “We had a girl!!” It was in that breath that our whole world changed.
I knew I always wanted to have a family, mostly because I knew how amazing Nick would be as a father. Seeing the way he looks at our little girl makes me fall even deeper in love with him every day.
Jenn Hopkins came over this weekend to take some priceless photos of our new family around our home and in the nursery. We didn’t know what our little bundle was going to be until she was born, so we decorated her room with the Vintage Babar prints I purchased while in Paris and bright colors. She truly fits her room perfectly; being such a wild thing herself.
{full disclosure, I never thought I’d be the type of mom who gets newborn pictures taken, but she is our little miracle and I want to remember every second of her perfect little tininess}
All my life, my Mom has worn a Liberty coin around her neck. My Dad gave it to her the Mother’s Day after I was born and it is a rare occasion that I ever see her without it. When we came home from the hospital, I had a little black box waiting for me and in it was my own Liberty coin and a note that said, “Welcome to a very special club.” I love my Mom so much and I hope that I am half the Mother she is.
You made quite an entrance into this world, my sweet earth angel, I know that our adventure has just begun.
