1. Tell us about yourself and how you started.
Eight years ago I went to a wedding and saw a wedding DJ for the first time. During the wedding he played the YMCA three times and the officiant had to finally tell the couple it was time to leave. With my background in music and sound production I knew right then I had found my niche, a place that I could make a difference in the market to help couples avoid having this same experience.
2. What do you love about being a DJ?
Being a DJ truly is a dream job! I get to work with amazing couples every week and be a part of the most important day of their life. But my favorite thing about all of it is at the end of the night seeing the couple with huge smiles on their faces, leaving and telling me that everything we did together was exactly what they wanted for their dream wedding; that they never dreamed their wedding could be that amazing!
3. What sets you apart from other DJs?
What I think sets me apart from other DJs is the way I partner with my couples to help them make their dream wedding a reality. I truly try to give them a luxury experience throughout the whole process. I make each wedding I do personal to the couple, meeting with them to helping them with their concept design. I try to help couples make their event seamless with lighting and environmental projection in addition to the music selection for the event. I work hard to create a party they will never forget.
4. What are some things couples should look for when booking a DJ?
Couples need to really think about what is important to them individually when searching for a DJ. Regardless of the style of DJ a couple is looking for, I always encourage couples to make sure that their DJ has a great reputation among wedding professionals. But, you cannot always gather all of the information you need about a person from a review, make sure you meet with the person who will be DJing your wedding to make sure that you are a good fit for each other. Response time is also very important, if you reach out to someone and it takes them days to respond to you, you can assume they do not really want to do your wedding. Lastly, you also need to make sure that you are booking someone who is a legitimate company with liability insurance. I could go on and on with things to help with the booking process, but the most important thing of all if make sure you trust the person you are hiring!
