I get asked all the time, what songs should we have played at our Reception? The sheet asks for like 50 and we are having a hard time filling it up. Normally, I tell my brides “stick with a genre, tell your DJ your favorite artists, and let them direct the show!” But the more that I thought about it, the more that I truly started listening to the songs played at my weddings, the more I knew that this blog post was NECESSARY!

Ask your DJ or Photographer, 9 times out of 10 I am dancing in the background of your wedding. To myself of course, in a little dark corner…but I’m still dancing. Can’t. Stop. Won’t. Stop. So, I have complied a list of the 10 songs that ALWAYS get people on the dance floor {and keep them there} and the one that even pulls me there, too!
DISCLAIMER: The time has passed for Gangham Style. It had a good run, but let’s retire that from all wedding receptions.
10. Rhianna – Only Girl in the World
9. Justin Timberlake – Rock Your Body
8. Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer – Give Me Everything
7. Beyonce – Single Ladies
6. Neil Diamond -Sweet Caroline
5. Black Eyed Peas. Any song.
4. Macklemore Featuring Ryan Lewis – Can’t Hold Us
3. Christina Agulara & PitBull – Feel This Moment
2. Lady Gaga – Just Dance
10. THE WOBBLE. If you don’t know it, I will teach you on your wedding day. This is my FAVORITE wedding dance of all time. It is an easy line dance, catchy beat, and helps me burn off the wedding cake calories! Here are some photos of me “caught red handed” teaching my Brides and their Guests how to Wobble!
