Rach and Eric, what a dream! The most thoughtful kind-hearted souls. I could tell right from the start that Rachael was special and we connected instantly.
I asked this power couple a few questions, here is what they had to say!
1 – How did you guys meet? Eric and I met on Bumble. Initially I messaged him and then COMPLETELY forgot about him, only to be sent a ‘You Alive?’ message a few weeks later. However, dogs bring people together because when I looked back and saw he had a pup that my dog could play with I was quick to suggest a dog date. I was still pretty skeptical of this random guy from Bumble – so my philosophy was ‘if the dogs don’t get along, we don’t have to go on a second date.’ Well, as you can already tell, the dogs became best friends, and I soon realized that I had also just met my best friend.Â
2 – How did you choose your venue? We always knew that we wanted a super untraditional vibe, and that we didn’t want to get married in New England where we had been living. BUT we loved the industrial vibe of a lot of places in New England, kind of like the mill building we had been living in. Having lived in JAX previously we knew of a lot of the options: farms, museums, halls – but none of that really fit our vibe. When we came across The Glass Factory we knew it was everything we wanted. It was the perfect untraditional, industrial vibe. Most importantly, it was a total blank slate!
3 – What was your favorite moment from the day? I don’t think there was a single moment of the day that I didn’t love. But if I had to pick just one- I would say our second first dance. At that point, Eric and I had hardly spent any time together all day outside of photos and our ceremony. We just talked our entire dance about the day, and having all of our favorite people in one place. It was an easy way for us to have some ‘together time’ even if it was in front of a bunch of people.
4 – Do you have a special detail that you remember? There were a lot of special details to our day, that made it uniquely ours. Something that was really special to us was the way Adair so intentionally and tastefully helped us tell guests that we had already secretly gotten married in February by adjusting our program to say ‘Get Married Again’. The even sweeter part of that being that because we were already legally married, we were able to do our second ceremony however we wanted- and that meant having each of our friends read a part of our ceremony and ‘marry us again’.
5 – Any advice for other brides? I am a control freak. A very type A control freak. However, for some reason, and to the shock of everyone, I decided that the last thing I wanted to do was plan my own wedding. Stepping back from the helm and letting Adair truly work her magic was the best thing I ever did. Wedding planning stress? None. Just showing up to your own party? 10000% recommend. I will admit that I was nervous as to whether or not I had accurately communicated what my internal vision was for our wedding was. My worries were in vain though, because when I walked in to see our space for the first time I literally dropped to the floor and was absolutely speechless.
