In the anticipation for my own trip back to Paris whilst planning a wedding there – I thought we would share my trip to Paris and Germany with my sweet husband.

Paris has always been my dream. Ever since I was a little girl, I longed to see the Eiffel Tower. It was nothing short of breath taking. When you are standing in front of such a vast structure it is hard to not have your breath taken away. As you can see here. 
Nick captured me seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time. Yes, I am crying. Yes, I am sleep deprived.
We lived like Parisians and stayed in a little flat that I found on cobblestay.com, it is an amazing apartment finder for flats in the heart of the city. 
We walked miles every day up and down the Seine taking everything in! Including indulging in the wonderful French cuisine! 
The street side flower markets here complete me. Those peonies in the top left corner had 24inch stems and the right corner is a potted garden rose bush.

This sums up my day in Paris: 1. Christian Louboutin Shoe Ferris Wheel. 2. Jenny Packham. 3. The mini statue. 4. A bottle of champagne on the Seine.

To all of my Dairing Brides ~ know that you are always on my mind and in my heart. Now you are forever in Paris.
I did learn some things along the way that I would love to share with you!
1. Rick Steves told us that if we needed anything just find a local pharmacy. Wrong, Rick Steves. You go to the local pharmacy to pay an arm and a leg for a bottle of shampoo. Instead, find a MonoPrix. It is like a French Target and it is an understatement when I say, I was in heaven. 
2. Comfortable shoes. Don’t try to be chic. Your feet will thank you. 
3. Pack an umbrella or buy one, then bring it with you everywhere. 
4. Make sure to keep some euro cash money on your person at all times. Some places will pick and choose who they will except credit from. 
5. Don’t go to the museums on the weekend. I wanted to cut someone. 
I will say that one of our favorite memories was made when we took a dinner cruise down the same. It was such a wonderful experience seeing the city of lights from a different perspective. If you have a chance to do this while you’re on your trip I definitely suggest it! And spring for the bottle of champagne you won’t regret it!
Of course I wouldn’t be the good wedding planner that I am if I did not schedule a photo shoot while in the city of love! In my research, I stumbled upon PicTours Pairs, with the photographer Lindsey behind the camera. And ex-pat herself living in France with her sweet husband who is a Chef!

She took us around the city and snapped pictures of us in front of all the famous monuments. Our favorite moment though was when we made it back to the Eiffel Tower and right in front, her husband had prepared out own personal Parisian picnic for two! We sat there and enjoyed each yummy morsel and when ten o’clock chimed, we both were awe struck. The tower not only lit up, but began to shimmer. It was an experience that you don’t fully understand until you are there.

After Paris we were off to Munich. A quick little 2 hour flight and we were greeted by Ginny and Thomas. You met them back in April when they got married in Ponte Vedra, you can see their wedding blogged here. We spent the next three days exploring the beautiful city of Munich, Germany with our personal tour guides. Each night we went to a different local Bavarian beirgarten and restaurant!

These roses were bigger than my hand! Smelled so glorious. Why does Europe have such amazing luck with flowers?!
Sampling the food was one of my favorite parts of this whole trip! And eating a pretzel with every meal didn’t hurt either. On one of the days Nick and I were taken to the local traditional Bavarian clothing store and tried on our own dirndl and lederhosen. Nick says that this is probably one of the few places in the world that I will actually blend in! Personally I think he blended in far better than I did.

Our journey to Europe soon came to an end and we said goodbye to our friends. There are a few things that you just don’t get here that you do over there, but there are a few things there you have to get here. And that is an jumbo sized black iced coffee. Shoot me, I’m American!
