Even though I have passed the year mark in my own marriage, I still consider myself a Newlywed. I get butterflies in my stomach when I see Nick, I put on a little lipstick before he comes home and make sure that {at least} the kitchen is clean. When I think of the future together, it just makes me smile to think of the fun that is still to come. When I think of 10 years together, I hope that we have the same loving relationship with each other and our children that Dan & Jessie Preza share.

I had the amazing pleasure of planning and designing the Preza’s celebration of 10 years together with a vow renewal. Jessie is the woman behind my beautiful website – {shout out to www.nestdesigngroup.com} and when she told me that she was wanting to renew her vows with her husband I jumped at the chance to be a part of such a special day. From the look of her website you can get an immediate idea of her style, organic, green, eco-chic, the very name implies her love of birds. What better way to design her day around the very things she loves. Jessie really handed over the reigns to me and the wheels started to spin off the tracks with ideas of how I could make her day extra special. So, I came up with the idea of using apothecary jars, filling them with moss and birds nests, to make table top terrariums! Then to symbolize the trees, we used branches and attached little birds atop. It was simply beautiful! Alleycakes OUT DID HERSELF with the desserts, they were the perfect ending to the wonderful dinner prepared by Perfect Pear Catering!

The best part of the day was that they were able to celebrate with their two beautiful children, Luke and Nora. During the ceremony their friend Dave had them re-exchange their rings.I tried my best to keep it together, but as they put the rings on each other’s hand the other person renewed the vows in saying “I accept this ring, that you have given me…” and I lost it – big ball of emotions over here! At the end of the ceremony, we had a balloon release {of bio-degradable balloons} for those who are no longer with us and for those who were unable to attend.

I have to say, that knowing the two of them, being a dear friend now to their family, made that day even more special. Thank you Dan & Jessie for letting me share your day and celebrate your love!
